OMNI Systems, one of the largest privately held label and thermal media converters in North America and the largest privately owned thermal media provider in the US, has been named to Inc.’s 2025 Best in Business list in the Best in Innovation category. This honor recognizes OMNI’s breakthrough sustainability initiative that the company says redefined waste management in high-volume label production.

Innovation with measurable impact

OMNI’s scrap-diversion and energy-conversion program now diverts roughly 80 tons of label scrap per month — about 900 tons annually from landfills. By automating removal and compression and partnering with Convergen Energy to convert compressed scrap into clean energy pellets, OMNI achieved a 10% increase in press speeds, 25% scrap reduction, and approximately $500,000 in avoided capital costs, while improving safety and creating higher-value roles for team members. This initiative further reflects OMNI’s commitment to operational automation and optimization — supporting their mission to deliver the lowest cost labels at the highest quality for customers.

“Recognition from Inc. proves that innovation and sustainability can work together,” says Adam DeFrancesco, CEO and founder of OMNI Systems. “Our model is built for scale and efficiency—delivering real savings and reliability for enterprise customers.”

“This project was a team effort, but the vision was clear: eliminate waste and create value,” adds Erik Majkrzak, VP of operations at OMNI Systems. “We didn’t just improve our process; we built a solution that benefits customers, employees, and the environment.”

“Each Best in Business honoree achieved a breakthrough moment this year,” says Bonny Ghosh, editorial director at Inc. “Some unveiled groundbreaking innovations while others launched savvy marketing campaigns or strategically implemented AI in their companies. No matter what their business win looked like, their projects and initiatives had a sizable impact on their company and even on their industry at large, making them worthy of this honor.”

OMNI’s innovation focus also earned a Bronze Stevie Award for Sustainable Business Models and a finalist distinction in the Manufacturing Leadership Awards, underscoring the company’s operational excellence and environmental stewardship.

Inc.’s Best in Business awards celebrate companies whose projects and initiatives delivered meaningful business wins and impact. Honorees are hand‑reviewed by Inc.’s editorial team and featured on Inc.com and in the Winter print issue of Inc. magazine.
